Beijing No.3 Chemical Plant First Soil Remediation Project in China
Beijing Chemical Plant as a chemical production base in almost 50 years, the soil contains a four-butyl tin, octyl phthalate, DDT and heavy metals lead, cadmium and other harmful chemicals a lot. 2005 under the Beijing Municipal Planning Commission documents [2005 regulation intended to select the word 0356 number], the site is zoned as songjiazhuang land for affordable housing projects.

Soil type: chemical contaminated soil
Main contaminants: tetra butyl tin, DOP, DDT, lead, cadmium and other harmful chemicals
Remediation technology: cement kiln incineration and solidification, segregating and land filling
Capacity: 65,000 m3
Remedial target: residential use
The project has successfully passed the exam of Beijing Municipal Environmental Protection Bureau. After treatment, all indicators met the suggested values of health risks assessment of residential land. The project is the first soil remediation project in China.
 
Beijing Red Lion Coatings Plant
Beijing Red Lion Coating Plant is a manufacturer of coating and paint products. Part of the soil within the plant site was contaminated. In 2007, the plant site was to be developed for a house of “Two-Limits” project with 1800 suites.

Soil type: coating and painting contaminated soil
Main contaminants: DDT, BHC
Remediation technology: cement kiln incineration and solidification
Capacity: 140,000 m3
 
Beijing Dyestuffs Plant
Beijing Dyestuffs Plant produced various kinds of dyestuffs and pigments. Soil within the plant site has been contaminated in different degrees. According to the proposal at the Third Session of the Tenth Beijing Committee of CCPPC, the plant site was to undertake ecology restoration for commercial development.

Location: Fatou Industrial Area, Chaoyang District, Beijing
Soil type: dyestuff and pigment contaminated soil
Main contaminants: heavy metals, semi-volatile organic chemicals
Remediation technology: thermal desorption, cement kiln incineration and solidification
Capacity: 52,000 m3
Remedial target: residential use
 
Soil Remediation Project of Nitrobenzene Production Facility of
Petro China Lanzhou Petrochemical Company
The 24,000 t/y aniline facility and 27,000 t/y nitrobenzene facility of Lanzhou Petrochemical Company were to be suspended and removed.The soil within the site was to be remedied properly and then used as a storage center.

Location: Xigu District, Lanzhou reach of Yellow River, Gansu province
Soil type: petrochemical contaminated soil
Main contaminants: benzene, nitrobenzene
Remediation technology: segregating and land filling
Capacity: 8,000 m3
Remedial target: to eliminate the potential environmental risks caused by the layout of petrochemical industry
 
South Precinct of Beijing Coking Plant
Beijing Coking Chemical Plant mainly produces coal chemical products, with nearly 50 years. In 2006, according to the Beijing Municipal Government approved the "Beijing Coking Chemical Plant shutdown work of the overall transformation of the relocation program," Beijing Coking Plant on July 16, 2006 was halted and moved. According to the plan requirements, the site will bear the urban functions, evacuation centers of Beijing and Tianjin city functions and services industry with responsibilities, a set of cultural and creative, high-end service capabilities as one of the functional areas of the city.

Main contaminants: phenol, sulfide, PAH
Remediation technology: land filling
Capacity: 2,000 m3
Remedial target: commercial development purpose
 
Industrial Site Preservation & Development Planning Project for Beijing Coking Plant
1.Take full consideration to the characteristics of the whole plant site, make sound regional layout regarding functions and coverage so as to achieve an open urban space for leisure and rest; take full consideration to the land nearby to set up highly efficient and people-oriented traffic and municipal supply systems.
2.Maximum overall benefits of the industrial site through proper arrangement.
3.Maximum benefits from car depots and its overlying development, as well as the land nearby.
4.Undertake scientific remedy measures for pollution control and ecological restoration so as to ensue the safety and health of local area.
5.Recommendations on the sequence of construction and related safeguard measures, and promote good coordination between regional construction and integral urban development.
 
Beijing songjiazhuang transport hub restoration of contaminated sites
The contaminated site is located in Song Zhuang Road, Fengtai District, Beijing, who have pesticide plant site, and later as a paint site. The actual situation with on-site repair and construction planning, the project in two phases.

Beijing Metro Line 10 subway station two songjiazhuang soil remediation projects with a total area of about 10,000 square meters, located in the former Beijing Chemical Plant and the original plot of land south of Beijing Red Lion Coatings plant area.
Time: 2009
Location: southeast of Beijing City, Metro Line 5 songjiazhuang station north
Soil type: Pesticide Factory contaminated soi
Major pollutants: BHC, DDT
Main: burning cured
